Hello, in this Blog Post I'm going to show you how to Crochet a Headband
Head Warmer For Beginners.

You can watch my YouTube tutorial video here:
First to start off with you crochet a chain for your foundation chain.
And so the way you measure how long your headband is going to be is you take that chain, the foundation chain, and you wrap it around your head to make sure it's not, you know, just fits snug, not too tight, not too loose. But then you
Also you need to leave a couple inches for when you put the headband together and
you bind it together.
So you're going to lose just a just a little bit of space. Not a whole lot, but you got to take that in consideration because you don't want to get all done and then your headbands is way too tight.
So what I suggest doing is you crochet your first your foundation chain.
Approximately 65 to 70, depending on your head size. I crocheted 70.
And if you're new to crocheting and you want to do this, but you you've never tried crocheting and you're a beginner you can watch my YouTube video where I teach the basics of How to Crochet.
To Watch that video tutorial Go Here: https://youtu.be/4TiYjUeYidI?si=or7FmO6MSCt62yyy
So once you have your foundation chain, chain one for your turn then single crochet.
When you get to the end crochet one and turn and continue to single crochet.
Then simple repeat this until you get your desired height. Approximately 4 to 4 1/2 inches.
I went back after I was done creating my desired height and I added this little trim around the top and the bottom just for fun.
Valentine's Day is coming up soon so I wanted to do the red and white for Valentine's Day and just for fun.
You can play around with different colors. That's what makes this so fun. You could do different colored stripes. Or you could do one solid color.
If you want to do the trim, it's super easy. It's just single crochet.
Now, how to fasten this together. Once I have the desired length and I've got it all my ends all woven in, then I'm going to make the twist.
So what you do with that is you just put your two ends together. They're facing
each other. And then you sandwich them together, where the ends are overlapping each other.
And you want to make sure that it's just really even because when you sew these together, you just got to be careful to go through all four layers.
So you got the top layers, one layer, two layers, three layers, four layers.
So you just want to make sure that they're even and they're all together so that when you stitch them together, they're all even as much as possible.
Then just thread your needle with your yarn. You can use a tapestry
needle. Then you are going to do just stitch them together.
So now just go through the four layers. You just got to be careful when you
get those ones that are in the middle. And you want to just take your needle and stick it through there.
Then pull it all the way through and then just kind of you can whip stitch it to where you're laying that yarn over top and then going from the bottom and through.
You don't want to go down too far because the farther you go down, the more you're going to make the headband tighter.
You just want to go through it down to the end and then just go back to the other end. So stitch the ends together working from the left to the right, then work back to the right. To really secure that twist.
These are really quick and easy to make and they're super fun. And when you play around with the different colors, it just makes it even more fun.
Then at the end tie a knot and weave in your ends. And if you need to know how to do that, I have a YouTube tutorial video on how to do that.
Here is my YouTube Channel:
So, when you turn it right side out, it's got this cute little twist. And doing the border makes it really fun, too.
